3 Essential Tips To Becoming A Writer

without comments

Haven’t you wondered why there are some people who can eloquently put their feelings and thoughts into paper and why there are some people who have problem generating a single sentence? Writing is a skill that has to be mastered and not something that you just wake up possessing. Writers have been writing poems, essays and articles all their life and that is why the process is a breeze. But it’s definitely not too late for you to start stringing words together.

Move yourself to write.

You do not want to recreate the experience that you had in middle school when you had to write a 500-word essay on something like “binary fission”.

You need to find a topic that you are most interested in. A simple trick to doing that is to explore your hobbies or your passions.

If you feel strongly about your topic, you will be more enthusiastic and excited to write. Eventually, you will be able to write an essay on anything and everything under the sun as long as you do a little research, but while you’re still on the process of honing your writing skill start with topics that will motivate you.

Tip # 2: Do not edit.

When you’re on the process of completing your essay, you should refrain from editing your work.

Although it’s never wrong for you to edit your essay, you should refrain from doing so at the same time that you are writing. You should not interrupt yourself from thinking of new ideas and putting those ideas on paper. It’s just the same thing as not interrupting someone who is the middle of saying something. At the same time, editing right away will make you more vulnerable to missing a few mistakes.

Editing is, nevertheless, important but you’ll be able to make a better job of it if you finish your entire essay and take a short walk or eat a little snack before editing.

Practice Makes Perfect

Writing is a skill that you have to continually polish and develop. The same way that you have to practice in order for you to nail your dance steps, you need to constantly write.
