Ultralight Fishing, Tackle, Lures, Lines – Sport Fishing Without The Effort

without comments

Ultralight fishing, tackle, lures, lines and hooks form an important part of a sport fisherman’s toolbox. When you are out there bass fishing in a small river or pond, making use of these might very well markedly increase your success rate. It doesn’t work well for catching larger fish though.

If you are taking part in a club tournament and find yourself stuck and not catching anything, you should consider trying a finesse lure. Making use of this has given many a despondent angler a new lease of life and helped him to get back in the tournament.

What is ultralight fishing exactly? The name describes a type of fishing where the anglers make use of very light weight rods and reels, mainly to catch sport fish. It was never designed to use for catching large fish, so using it for that purpose will not meet with much success.

The first piece of equipment in your lightweight fishing toolbox would be a lightweight rod. That by no means means a rod only suitable for pigmies. The rods many anglers use nowadays are often more than 2m long. They are constructed from heavy duty light weight material. Their feature list is often as long as that of many larger rods.

When it comes to the choice of reels, many fishermen prefer the trusted old spinning wheel. Small here also does not mean minute, and they have the same features as many of their bigger brothers. They are extremely solid and reliable, yet weigh only a few hundred grams.

Something else you should keep in mind is that your fishing line should match your rod and reel. It’s no use spending all that money on the right rod or reel and buy the wrong line, since this will adversely affect your casting distance and also hamper you in other areas.

The hooks that you use should of course also be of a size and type that is suitable for light weight sport fishing. You aren’t catching sharks my friend, this is simply sport fishing.

Ultralight fishing lures

Once again the type of fishing lure you will be using depends on what type of fish you want to catch. There is a huge array of fishing lures available, and this has become both an art and a science. Below is a short summary of the different types of lure available.

*Spinners and spoons. The classic choice. This involves some sort of spinning blade, which either spins on its own, or around a central shaft. It causes vibrations in the water and many fish simply find it irresistible.

*Small jigs. They are excellent for imitating crayfish and many other kinds of preying creatures. There are few better options for catching pan fish, since the whole sunfish family love this type of lure.

*Small stick baits and crank baits. These look like small bait fish, and predatory fish species like small mouth bass and many types of pan fish have a peculiar preference for this type of bait.

Choosing the most suitable ultralight fishing tackle, lures, lines and hooks is therefore highly important for the successful outcome of your fishing expedition, and you have to spend sufficient time on planning this.

Ultralight Fishing isn’t a tough sport, but sometimes you need a Ultralight Fishing Rocket Fishing Rod in order to have a successful day on the water. For more great tips to catch fish while using ultralight tackle, you have to stop by Ultralight Bass Fishing|Ultralight Fishing Dot Com.
