The Wicked Magician Who Made Me Interrogate Veracity Itself
So the other day I was walking down the street, just minding my own business. I had kind of a hangover, and wasn’t quite sure where I was going. I just wanted to get out of the house, if you catch my drift. I passed by this really strange bar, and inside was this guy surrounded by beautiful women, so naturally I went inside to take a peek.
I looked inside and noticed this one guy doing all these random card tricks for the people inside. I walked in, and they seemed to be regular run of the mill card tricks that most people learn in second grade. He would have people guess a card, put it back in the deck, and then immediately tell them what card it was. Needless to say it was rather impressive.
Then he switched into the psychic part of his routine, and this is where I could hear my brain sizzling. He would stare at somebody, read their mind, and then stare at somebody else, and download the first person’s information into the second person. Then the second person, who didn’t know the first person, would start telling everybody secrets about the first person that even their best friends didn’t know.
After that he did more normal tricks, like making things vanish and not come back, he made a few people float up in the air, and he made this puppy dance around and sing the theme from “The Love Boat.” Actually when I think about it, the whole affair was quite out of the ordinary. I’m not sure if I know what really happened.
I could only take so much of this before I had to go back outside. It was by far the strangest magical experience I’ve ever come across in my short life. But just as I was about to walk down the street, I heard a voice behind me.
You must learn magic tricks! You must study the ways of the dark arts in order to perform the reality bending entertainment that is your destiny! I was too scared to turn around, because I was afraid of what would happen if I did.
